Upgrade - 8/10

Cant say a bad thing about this budget sci fi/action flick. It is a solid entertaining fun Blumhouse film that accomplishes all it sets out.

Basic film premise - a man becomes paraplegic in an orchestrated car accident where his wife is murdered. He is implanted with AI tech that can animate his body while he goes on search for his wifes killers. A lot of upgrade was shot in melbourne apparently.

Gloria 1980

“When a young boy's family is killed by the mob, their tough neighbor Gloria becomes his reluctant guardian. In possession of a book that the gangsters want, the pair go on the run in New York.”

Good film, great shots of old new york,Gena Rowlands puts in terrific performace lika prime checkhook used to be,The annoying Puerto rican kid was awful tho check hook stability awful!

Arizona - 5/10

For some reason I thought this was going to be a good movie. Im not sure what it wants to be- a comedy, suspense/thriller, action, neo noir... It did none of that well. It missed opportunity for further plot or social political message. Danny Mcbride can hold the screen though, apart from being a B movie (not a fan of those) it actually not that bad in a way.

Its still a 5/10....

I watched Deadpool (the first one) last night. I very rarely watch films and normally binge watch T.V series. I was quite impressed with it. Although the story wasn't particularly groundbreaking I found it captivating enough to watch the whole thing. It was an easy watch, funny in parts but the story was quite predictable. The action scenes were fairly decent and it made for a decent watch as well as seeing a slightly different take on a person with a super power.

I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for something to get engrossed in but if you want to stick on an easy to watch movie then this fits the bill perfectly.

I'd rate it 7/10.

Lackluster story in soldado....

Worse part is that itll continue for a trilogy.

Spoiler below

Equalizer 2

It was good but the first one was a lot better. Had some really brutal deaths in it.

Dunkirk 7/10.

Really enjoyed the overall effect of the cinematography & soundtrack.

Thought the heartbeat & ticking clock in the background was a clever way to build tension.

Didn't mind the storyline either - wasn't particularly deep but fulfilled it's purpose & wasn't too obviously a vehicle for special effects & visuals.

I thought this was overrated shite to be honest.

Very little clarification on the characters and their roles in the day,it just was a massive dissapointment for me.

‘The Quiet Place’

Had great reviews and was considered original in the horror/scare genre so had a butchers last night.

I only give it a limp 5/10 though,it did things pretty well but quite simply lacking sound is not something I enjoyed.Shot well, decent length, acted well especially the kids but some peculiarities which unfortunately can’t be explained as there is no dialogue and even though it does make you jump it didn’t grip me.Decent enough ending but I was generally dissapointed.

Would have been great to fall asleep to at the cinema,no bombastic sound effects and deafening noise.

I watched a lot of films before this place came up/during CHB downtime. I'll try to remember what I thought of films. Saw this just reviewed here so here it goes.

A Quiet Place

Like the other review, I expected quite a bit. It was disappointing. The story, acting, general look and feel of the film was good. It just didn't get me. Throwing a shoddy looking monster on screen so early was a bad idea, giving it more screen time was even worse. This film would have worked better without seeing the creature, the slow suspense scenes really dropped away when you knew what was out to get them. It felt like a studio decision rather than the filmmakers just so they could get younger bums on seats and have that jump scare ooh-ooh reaction. The kids an the pay off annoyed the hell out of me too. Unintentionally funny and stupid at times.

6/10 Really hoped this would be great and scare the hell out of me. It wasn't and didn't.

Murder on the Orient Express

The old film is very good, I really enjoyed the book too. This film however only lasted about 10 mins. A terrible start became embarrassing that I quickly turned it off.

0/10 Shite

Agreed and agreed.

Love murder mystery’s but this was SHIT x 100,no suspense or interest in who did what to who.It was wank and I ordered it off sky store sadly so it cost me 6 quid.
